Okay, here's the deal...
...A little over 12 years ago, I started a company called "Little Wolf Productions", in Rochester, NY. I offered a very moderately priced recording facility and music production services. Out of that grew "Upstate Songwriters Association", which offered even more services to it's members, including reduced demo rates and production packages. A lot of really great demos came out of that modest studio! In fact, one of the projects I was lucky enough to work on, all in Japanese, rendered a 16-page critique from Sony Records, praising the quality of the presentation. (They didn't go for the material though).
Due to unforeseen circumstances, I was forced to disband the Association and move my studio equipment to my home where for years, I only worked on my own personal projects. After I produced my first CD, "NousBleux", I again became interested in working with other artists. I have a great understanding of what "struggling artist" means. I could have written a couple of chapters in the manual.
My recent research found this general information:
Recording a demo usually runs about $500 for a basic package. The recording time runs an average of $30 per hour. This includes only that...the studio time, and you had better come in prepared with arrangements, musicians, etc.. Additional production costs more, a lot more. Need to have a simple arrangement done for your song...more $$$. Musician's? They all cost money, as they should. We all need to make a living! Which brings me to the point of all of this...
I offer my services for $25 per hour. That's it. Which of my skills I use in that time is not really a factor to me. I can, and will, record, produce, arrange, perform, and master your project, or any combination of those services. That will cost you $25 per hour. And with internet technology, this can be done for anyone in the world...right from my home. I find, on the average, a demo done in this fashion runs about 10-12 hours, $250 - $300. And that is a fairly elaborate arrangement. I ask for a minimum of 3 hours. It will take that for the simplest of demos. What you will end up with is a CD of your song, or your performance of yours or someone elses song and sheet music with lyrics and chords. Put this with your promo-package, and send it out. Simple. The best part of all of this, is that I understand the artist (see above). We can talk! Start out by sending me an E-MAIL and we can get started.
